
A local Christian organization in Meru, Jesus House of Praise, is planning to put up a multi-billion shilling mixed use development. The church is proposing to establish the Jesus House of Praise Mixed Use Development, a 30-storey mixed-use urban development on a 0.4ha plot of land in Meru Town, the county’s headquarters.
The proposed development will mainly comprise of office spaces, retail stores, serviced apartments, Hotels, a swimming pool and a gym. In addition, it will have Church halls, Retail Parking and associated ancillary facilities within the building.
The 30-story structure will also have two lower basement levels mainly to serve as the buildings parking bays. Both basements will mainly be used as parking spaces with a capacity of 200 parking slots.

Jesus House of Praise mixed use development is to be located along Meru-Embu-Nairobi Highway in Meru town, Meru County at a distance of from Meru CBD 1.6 KM.
Meru County has a projected population of 1.64 million as of 2018 and a population growth rate estimated at 2.1 per cent per annum while the county’s urban population of about 140,000 as of 2018.
The county’s real estate market has attracted key real estate actors in recent years including Fusion Capital who in 2016 announced plans to invest in a multi billion shilling development in the area. The county authorities through the Meru County Investment and Development Corporation (MCIDC), have endeavoured to create a conducive environment for prospective investors.

Commercial, residential and retail proprietors have already propped up the market which has seen a rise in rental rates in recent years.
Jesus House of Praise is located in within the surrounding of several commercial premises in what is seen as an upcoming business district in the town. The project is expected to cost KSh. 4.52 billion.
