
A Chinese company is putting up a residential development in Dar-es-Salaam that is estimated to create 1000 jobs for Tanzanians.
The US$43 million project, to be developed by the China Civil Engineering Construction Corporation (CCECC) is expected to break ground in November this year.
Named the Royal Glory Residence, the development will comprise of 14 villas, 156 apartments and 17 modern shops.
Leon Zhang, sales manager for CCECC told IPCC media that the project, expected to produce state of the art residences, will change the face of Dar-es-Salaam. The project will be built on a five-acre piece of land in two phases.
Among, the facilities to be included in the development will be eco-friendly gardens, CCTV cameras, standby generators, intercom, electric fence system and fitness walking track. The gated community will be fully furnished with a kids play area, swimming pool, fully equipped gym and tennis court among others.
The promoters of the project are targeting business persons, companies and organizations who are looking for state of the art accommodation facilities for themselves or their workforce, said Zhang who was speaking during the foundation stone laying ceremony. He went on to urge early bookings.
CCECC has been involved in a number of construction projects in the country including roads, bridges, and housing.
