Exurbia Living, a real estate development company, has yesterday officially announced Jacob Gardens, a development in the Thogoto/Gikambura area of Kikuyu targeting home buyers that are looking for a chance to work in Nairobi while enjoying the countryside as a residence.
Exurbia Living has introduced Jacob Gardens through a concept that will see controlled development for home buyers that are looking for serviced parcels of land and quality home construction thereafter.
“Home buyers are looking for land that is serviced, ready for use while at the same time want an assurance that their investments will not be affected by uncontrolled developments. One way we are ensuring this is by not allowing construction of flats within the gated communities and ensuring all round security,” said Mr. Vincent Abuya, an Architect at Exurbia Living.
The word exurbia means living beyond the suburbs. Typically current City Exurbs include Karen, Tigoni and Kiserian.
Plot buyers in turn will in turn be given two choices in the type of houses that they can construct in an effort at ensuing the developments remain within the said standards.
Ms Diane Mukiama, the branding director of Exurbia Living, added that the company is also targeting buyers who want to capitalize on the increasingly popular Thogoto area which is benefitting from the ripple effect of the Nairobi Southern Bypass that has opened up the area.
“The Southern Bypass has shortened the distance to the Westlands, Langata, Ngong Road and Karen nodes while the completion of major roads including Ruaka-Banana-Limuru-Thogoto and Mutarakwa Roads will make the Gikambura-Kikuyu node more accessible,” she added. “This area requires a discerning purchaser, one intent on getting in ahead of the curve rather than those who prefer to play catch up”.
Kiambu County is recording double-digit growth in land prices as home buyers move to Nairobi’s neighboring county which is offering pockets of investments while at the same time benefiting from better access to the city courtesy of infrastructure projects.
Exurbia is additionally carrying out similar gated community and holiday home concepts in Emali, Makueni County which are similarly benefiting from increased access from the Standard Gauge Railway.
