
Trio Properties Limited plans to put up a residential development in Nairobi’s South B estate, to supply 176 studio apartments to the market. A studio apartment, commonly known as bedsitters in Kenya, is an arrangement containing everything in a single room.
The development will be located along Sonia Lane, approximately 100m from the junction of Sore Road and Sonia Lane in South B area of Nairobi City County. South B area has undergone a transformation with several high-rise apartments coming up in recent years.
The 0.073 Ha plot is large enough to accommodate the proposed development with strict adherence to the parcel development rights as provided by the County Government, according to the proposed building’s environmental experts report.

All 11 floors of the building will each comprise of 16 units of studio apartments having a lounge, kitchenette and washroom.
The building will also incorporate two level parking bays with the lower ground floor level will comprising of 10 parking bays and the upper ground floor level holding 14 parking bays.
Additionally, a lower roof terrace will comprise of a washing area, drying yard, gym, pump-room, two lounges and a lap pool while the upper roof terrace will comprise of solar panels and roof water tanks.
Other important features of the building include waste disposal room, pressurization duct and gardens, caretaker room and laundry area.
Occupants will in addition, have the luxury of accessing recreational facilities provided within the development including a lap pool, gymnasium, rest longue and a play area.
The proposed project is estimated to come at a cost of KSh. 343.7 million to the developer. The project will be completed within the next two years according to expectations.
