Tanzania Government has signed a contract with Chinese company Neusoft Medical Systems Company Ltd to construct the largest medical equipment manufacturing factory in Africa.
The new factory will have the capability to design and manufacture a wide range of medical products which include Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI), X-ray machines, among other things.
According to Tanzania’s Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Health, Community Development, Gender, Elderly and Children, Dr Mpoki Ulisubisya, the factory will be the largest in Africa and will also offer training to local medical specialists.
