Ederman Properties Ltd is set to launch its highrise apartment building project dabbed The River Estate. The project is located in Nairobi’s Ngara Area along Jodongo road next to Ngara Girls High School. The development is a unique one for Nairobi and will be the first of its kind in East and Central Africa.
The River Estate development will comprise of eight apartment blocks each 34 floors high with 340 units per block. Highrise apartments are a new development in the city, and the region where most apartment buildings are usually less than 10 floors high.
Apart from its physical features which include three elevators per block, internet fibre connections, parking and commercial space, the development will give residents a panoramic view of the city at the said height.
Once complete the development will have the capacity to house 2720 families, creating local demand for other amenities. According to Ederman Properties, the development will consist of 3 types of houses including 3-bedroom apartments, 2-bedroom apartments and 1-bedroom apartments.
The River estate housing project will also include the rehabilitation of Jadongo access road which leads to the development. The project will be one of EPL’s biggest projects since its inception in 2003 and the firm will finance, build and maintain the project.
The project is in line with the governments affordable housing agenda.
