Nairobi has been recognized as Africa’s top business travel destination for 2020 as announced by the 27th installment of the World Travel Awards. The awards also ranked Kenya as Africa’s Leading Destination.
The news was unveiled during the inaugural Africa Winners Day hosted by World Travel Awards– a global initiative to recognize and reward excellence in travel and tourism, to honoring the best from across the continent.
The awards also saw Nairobi’s Villa Rosa Kempinski ranked as Africa’s Leading Luxury Hotel 2020 while Fairmont Mount Kenya Safari Club was ranked the leading hotel in Africa.
Palacina; The Residence & The Suites, Kenya also received accolades as Africa’s Leading Hotel Residences 2020.
The Kenyatta International Convention Centre was named Africa’s Leading Meetings & Conference Centre 2020 by organizers of the awards.
In addition, the Kenya Tourism Board was named as Africa’s Leading Tourist Board 2020.
Other outfits feted during the awards include Kenya Airways which picked up both ‘Africa’s Leading Airline – Business Class’ and ‘Africa’s Leading Airline – Economy Class’, Finch Hattons, Ole Mara Kempinski and others.
The awards were decided by votes cast by travel industry professionals and the public. This is not the first time the city has been ranked Africa’s top business travel destination.
World Travel Awards founder Graham Cooke said the winners represent the very best of Africa’s travel and tourism sector.
