The Ministry of Lands and Physical Planning has announced a temporary closure of all lands offices and registry’s in the country.

In a statement sent to the media this evening, the ministry said that it was acting in compliance with the presidential directive on the management and mitigation of COVID-19.

The ministry is scaling down operations and expects all land offices and registries throughout the country to be closed for 28 days effective Tuesday March, 17th, 2020.

The directive will also affect services at the Survey of Kenya headquarters in Ruaraka, Nairobi.

According to the statement, any emergencies will be handled by the customer care desks. The closure will allow for further consultation and design of appropriate measures to protect staff and members of the general public.

The ministry said its leadership will review the situation to provide further directive to the public from time to time.
