Makueni Governor recently struck another popular vein after launching the construction of the Wote Green Park in Makueni County. The high-flying governor shared the thing via a Facebook post including a video of the said development, prompting social media applause in the most part.
The project is being undertaken within Wote Municipality consists of amenities such as green recreational spaces with various gardens having exotic trees and flowers, walking paths, 24-hour security lighting and park ornamental lighting.
The Park will also have a paved open-air theatre, photo shooting venues, artificial water fountains and a variety of recreational amusements. Technological convenience will not be overlooked as the park will have Wi Fi hotspots and ICT innovation centre.
Further a children’s play corner, public toilets, food courts and stalls, and a solid waste management system are planned within the park. Images of the park show a detailed modern design with well-crafted open spaces, structures, trees and greenery in subtle proportions.
The park which was tendered in February this year, has already broken ground with work currently on progress at the site.
Wote is the seat of Makueni County headquarters with a population of over one million people. Last year, Makueni’s governor Prof. Kivutha Kibwana commissioned two water treatment plants for the town, making the town water secure.
